pending)I've been a computer professional for 22 years and only today (4/12/08) have I decided on getting one (free from SONIC.NET my ISP).
I couldn't decide, tech-nut.com was taken, garrett-consulting.com (&.biz) was parked so I went generic.
My "nexus" site is tech-nut.tripod.com. Which in turn links to other free hosting sites with outdated content. I have to consolidate and develop it but I am focusing on survival and employment at this time (I need a BS in CS degree for example to get back into SQA).
Sites I 'own' as in hosted but not that insipid "MySpace"

Others not listed, it seems that some sites think that BLOG systems replace community BBS style systems as per Fx Network has done! BTW BBS styles is each user can either create a subject title (not name, title!) as a question and other answer. BLOGS don't work that way but are forced into a limited number of subject / titles by the site administration.
Too many subjects even at the 'top level' (like disability issues, hobbies, etc.). Subjects can allow multiple issues to be lumped together in one site so I can put a lot on the primary site whichever I choose. The problem is backing up the data locally so that if the site goes out of business (or is dropped) the data can be imported to another. Publishing software can handle that somewhat but publishing is not quite universal since MS Live! Writer does not seem to work with a lot of BLOG sites so far...
I'm having to do too much 'management' work on web sites and BLOG subjects so I'll get to it when I get to it. ;-)
It appears that some consider a BLOG feature to be a 'replacement' for community features of a site like FX network has apparently done!
Sheesh, if it's free I'll look into it and now I
have available four seven nine or more BLOGS to use and no time to write these PUBLIC
messages. My personal log stays at home!

Why is the N word forbidden, and many other racist ones but when it comes to disabilities that it is ok to hurt us? Please don't show hatred towards us we're as human as the next person.
I have started writing a paper (in it's first draft) that is as much "personal" notes as to remind myself I cannot be employed as an attempt at summing up the unemployment problem for persons with disabilities that people, especially employers, need to learn about. I've dropped the link as it's not in reformatted HTML (aka, cleaned up for publishing) yet. The document file is not finished (too much detail) and therefore can't be re-written or even just copied to HTML.
So many people need to learn about it (NT's & non-disabled) and from the information so as to learn to do the true right thing, not someone's opinion of what's right but the truth.
6/28/08: time management problems and the urgent need for employment of some sort has me out of time for writing. It's too complicated a concept for a blog entry.

web developer though I took a couple of classes. I also have not learned

Not as bad as in the late 70s in Santa Rosa, CA when you couldn't see a thousand feet away! That was from a fire or fires in the immediate area probably south of town with wind blowing north towards where I remember it occurring at.
About my computer & programming knowledge. I had some HTML classes but it is primitive. I'm focusing on C++ (was very C proficient but moving on up to object oriented design & windows) stand alone applications upgrading to web functions when I get to that point though the focus won't be SaaS but 'normal' applications development with a web component. I was also a SQA guru until I was laid off and will get back to that as well. Also I was a database proficient and will be upgrading to newer standards possibly starting with 4D which is close to the old system I knew on an old UNIX based system. Of course I have to focus on Windows to increase my chance of getting a job since all my software is MS based.
Computer college subjects to focus on: (1) C++, (2) databases (minor). Also a major field of knowledge to continue with is (3) Accounting Software as the third subject to continue with as a career orientation and study.
